These are the most famous attractions, landmarks and sights of Leipzig that we have put together for you:
From left to right, you will see on this bracelet the Schillerhaus, a small former farmhouse where Friedrich Schiller lived and worked in 1785, the Reichsgerichtsgebäude (Imperial Court Building), dating from the late 19th century, which is now home to the Federal Administrative Court, the Panometer, a former gasometer, in which changing 360-degree panoramas by Yadegar Asisi are exhibited, the Opera House designed in neoclassical style, the Russian Orthodox Russian Memorial Church, the Krochhochhaus designed as a clock tower with its 3 bells on Augustusplatz and the St. Thomas Church in which Johann Sebastian Bach worked as music director and head of the famous boys’ choir Thomanerchor and in which Martin Luther also gave a sermon in 1539.
The next building you can see on the bracelet is the Rossbach Palace in the Music Quarter, built by the architect Arwed Rossbach, whose buildings had a great influence on the cityscape of Leipzig, the 191 m high TV Tower, the Old Stock Exchange at the Naschmarkt place, built in 1679, the impressive Monument to the Battle of the Nations, the Old City Hall at the Marktplatz, the Double M at the former East Gate of the Old Exhibition Grounds and the portico of the Bavarian Railway Station, inaugurated in 1842 and closed in 2001.
